This project is estimated to be worth PKR 8 billion, and it is likely to take about 18 months to be fully developed.
Second Phase: Madyan to Chakdara Transmission Line
The second phase will involve the establishment of an approximately 80 km transmission line from Madyan to Chakdara. It will require PKR 16-18 billion to complete this project, and the total time necessary to complete this project is 48 months. These projects will improve the development of the power transmission network in the province, contributing to bringing cheaper electricity to families and businesses.
Third Phase: 3500 MW Transmission System
The third phase will involve the establishment of a new efficient transmission system that will be able to transmit 3500 MW of cheap power. This phase will incorporate the fully implemented and those that are still under construction, with a total of 171 MW and 100 MW. In this regard, once this system is fully implemented, it will be useful in helping to solve the issue of availability and cost of electricity in the province.
Private Sector Investment
The Secretary of Energy and Power, Haji Nisar Ahmad Khan, was optimistic about the role of the private sector in these energy projects. He praised their investment as being beneficial, which would without doubt advance the province’s path towards energy resource efficiency and economic development. This is because the private sector has the capability to carry out large projects on time, hence enhancing the growth of the province.
